College Football Season has started!
Football season has started! Well, at least the College season has, and last night saw 34 teams in 17 games. Obviously, with there being around 150 college teams, we can’t run through every single game, but here are just a couple of interesting results.
Indiana 73, Indiana State 35
With a total of 632 offensive yards (319 passing and 313 rushing), Indiana scored 9 touchdowns including a 58 yard punt return for a touchdown from Shane Wynn in the second quarter.
Despide losing, the Indiana State Sycamores managed to score an impressive 35 points from 3 passing touchdowns, a fumble return for a touchdown and a pick six.
The Hoosiers managed to break the Memorial Stadium scoring record, set a school mark for first-half points and play well enough to give the ticket-holders a complimentary hot dog. But there was still a smattering of fans that booed when they decided to kneel down four straight times inside the Indiana State 20 as they wanted the Hoosiers to break the school’s all-time scoring record of 76. The players wanted it too, but at the end of the day it’s the coaches final decision.
Rutgers 51, Fresno St 52
This game was taken after finishing 45 – 45 in regulation time, with Fresno State only winning by 1 point after Rutgers failed with the 2-point conversion.
It was a very close game, with the lead changing hands on several occasions throughout. Rutgers first score on the board was from a 100 yard kickoff return by Janarion Grant. During this game, we saw Bulldogs QB Derek Carr throw 5 touchdown passes and a huge 470 yards with only 1 interception, completing 52-of-73 passing attempts. The Scarlet Knights QB, Gary Nova, also threw 5 touchdown passes and 1 interception but for 348 yards, completing 26-of-41 attempts.happy wheels game
